Are RFID tags dangerous to child privacy at parks, schools & concerts?
BTC POLL -- Over the Summer we have seen several headlines about RFID being adopted by schools, amusement parks and even large scale concerts. Parents may or may not be aware of the dangers of RFID adoption poseas identity credentials or the debate over child privacy online and RF devices.
A few years ago public adoption of RFID by force of government mandate was completely shunned due to objections over privacy. Singularity proponents have had wins mandating RFID microchips in animals,to some detriment. Now the next tier in voluntary compulsory adoption is through children, a vulnerable public under a universal rule to "obey the adult".
Children, more often their parents, make most decision over technology adoption in the home. So, if your child comes home with an RFID tag as a result of a US ID initiative or with a wristband checking them into their Facebook accounts - what is your decision?
