MONKEY WRENCHING THE REAL ID

AUSTIN, TX - Big fat thanks to the Austin Chronicle for posting the following:

TEXANS AGAINST REAL IDs- This gathering of concerned citizens will discuss how best to stop Real ID's, one of the many ill-conceived riders from the War on Terror legislative blitz of 2005. 7:30pm. Monkey Wrench Books, 110 E. North Loop,  407-MBWK. Free.

SO .. if you connect with words like "social issues", "green party, "Marxism" or the ACLU or "Progressive democracy" - The Monkey Wrench meeting is calling your name.  From here we will equip you with whatever legislative tools will boost your advocacy against Real ID's.    Today and tomorrow, the Texas State Democratic convention will be covering all of their reform committee agendas - an anti-Real ID was not on it.

Look for an article in the future from the Lone Star Iconoclast about what the 5-11 Committee is doing.  We are in the midst of organizing a fundraiser. The 5-11 beta version of our website will be live in about 3 days.
It seemed to take forever to get BeatTheChip on the map - but right now the issue is filling in the lines with quality content that will reinforce the best bets for THE KILL OF REAL ID.

Virtual Committee Meeting Under 8lbs of Dreads

One of the 5-11 committee members on our broadcast and public affairs team is the one and only, Guymon Adams, who does a show called Liberty After Dark on Revere Radio Network.  Take for granted that his audience is attuned for news of a Constitutional nature and keeping tabs New World Order agendas. While partisan policy makers all have public documents and PAC's developing the North American Union -the Amero is at the US mint  - there are a few people in the Global Elite camp who really don't want you to dwell on those facts. Unlike Jamison Foser at Media Matters, Guymon won't tell you that the NAU is a myth.   It would really help us all if it didn't exist, but there's a budget for it in the taxpayer reports. They really aren't doing a great job of hiding it. NONETHELESS , our public affairs hero has finally posted an archived account of yet another virtual 5-11 Campaign Committee Meeting.

Progressives Latest to Join Real ID Fights

Commentary c/o BeatTheChip.org

Progressives may be giving the new rallying cry against the perils posed by Real ID's.  This may bridge partisam divides, which in the past, pitched Real ID reforms squarely in the championship range of Ron Paul Republicans and the Libertarian party. Remember, it took both the House and the Senate to pass the Real ID Act of 2005.

Chief critics of the Real ID Act have marshalled their attacks on the new ID's based on privacy, identity security and vulnerable state budgets in a time of precarious economics in American history.   As States' collective opposition to Real ID's mount, evidence reveals that privacy, identity security and state fiscal affairs have activated many sleepy citizens to move against an orwellian reality, contrary to DHS's rhetoric that "the people have spoken loudly that they want [Real IDs]". This exposes party divides into a different polarization.  This would be those who want a globalized American modern politic to include personal attributions of your 3D biometric facial profile in an international database and those who feel that we should be going a different direction with US foreign policy - which includes a strong focus on domestic restoration of Constitutional protections.  This would also mean reeling back in the mile of trust from the inches given to FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security over the devastations and neglect of Post-Katrina New Orleans, the anullment of Habeas Corpus, and warrantless wiretapping due to the Patriot Act to name a few of the depraved indifferences endured by dutiful American taxpayers.

The former feel a need to shame Americans for being so backward in not performing at a world class level of citizen accountability.  The latter feel the need to extricate themselves from globalized politics used to suffocate the US taxpaying constituency and overextend themselves in foreign affairs where we know our presence is a detriment.   Whatever political philosophies abound regarding Real ID's - the breakdown is the same, state governments will have to come up with a painful amount of money to implement a grossly intrusive, compromised and fundamentally unpatriotic national ID card likened to those used in the European Union.  The Electronic Privacy  Information Center release a report last month on the debilitating and far-reaching losses the average American will endure due to Real ID's. The report contains comprehensive information on what lies ahead for America if we continue in this path.

Progressives have had to ride nuanced lines to support humanizing social values in liberal political culture.  Often they have reason and merit.  Conversely, for the same reasons they are as equally overlooked and marginalized as their right-winged counterparts.   If Real ID is any type of worthy fight it will require every American voting constituency to be represented with a voice to repeal The Real ID Act of 2005.

After January 2010- everyone, party affiliation or no, will get a

Texas DPS Decides in Favor of RFID Chips in Licenses

According to an ACLU Texas State Policy Director, Texas decided to incorporate the use of radio frequency ID chips in licenses at the last Texas Dept. of Public Safety meeting roughly over a week ago.

I have not reached anyone at Texas DPS for an official comment on the matter.

However - as a public consolation prize you can attend the next 5-11 Campaign Committee Meeting.

The 4th Branch Pushes Back Against Big Media

As we have observed public affairs bottom-feeder-cum-muckraker, Scott McClellan, turn a dime and the tides on George Bush and Co., we are watching a revolution taking place in the 4th Branch of the Government or The American Media.  One of the benefits of being castigated by the Bush administration as a "liberal blogger" is the new label of trustworthiness in news.

The media as we know it has been routinely muzzled for the last 10 years.  That's why "liberal bloggers" and the Internet have become the go-to-guys for reliable public news and views.   While I am glad to be a part of an alternative media movement, we have a long way to go.

BeatTheChip.org along with TruthOut.org is proud to republish this ballsy editorial link on the new level of pushback American journalists in the trenches are delivering to the Rupert Murdochs and Global Elitist tools who want to wreck the beauty of living for anyone who isn't them.

c/o Robert W. McChesney and John Nichols, The Nation
"On a Thursday in mid-May, The Senate did something that would have been unimaginable a decade ago.  Led by Democrat Byron Dorgan, the senators- Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conseratives - gave Rupert Murdoch and his fellow media moguls the sort of slap that masters of the universe don't expect from mere mortals on Capitol Hill. "

If anyone is interested there is a National Conference for Media Reform going on in Minneapolis, that is a pretty big deal.  If I had both the time and money in the right place I would go myself. ::NMCR CONFERENCE::

If anyone is interested in sponsoring my travel, room and board and conference registration, I can be reached at : beatthechip@gmail.com - because I DO WANNA GO.

c/o Kennebec Journal

The Maine Green Independent Party, fresh off its convention in Yarmouth last weekend, said it will play an active role in collecting signatures for two petition drives.  One is a people's veto effort to repeal the law that brings Maine into compliance with the Real ID federal regulations, and the other is the ongoing effort to repeal the school district consolidation law.

These petitions and other will be at the polls June 10. ::FULL STORY HERE::
