The torture of Brad Manning

BTC - We deserve better.  The armed service members in this country deserve better.  However- the sad truth is that Pvt. Bradley Manning is experiencing the US institution of torture and rendition consistent with being classified as a "terrorist".

This is what the United States military has been reduced to: extorting us towards crushing debt to pay for torture and incarceration of our own citizens when THEY TELL THE TRUTH.

Be reminded, we may demand a different standard than, "shut up, lay down and take it without making any noise".

Daniel Ellsberg, a pioneer in the art of the leak led a revolution in public awareness.  This was before news organizations were infiltrated by cold war era military plants.

It's all we can do to to just stay dedicated to blowing the whistle; until The People come down like rain on the worst form of  governance in our name in US history.

Without further ado, Mr. Daniel Ellsberg, says it again.

TSA compliant licenses result in CA DMV backlog

"The Transportation Security Administration will honor expired driver’s licenses at the airport but travelers may have to go through some extra screening.."
c/o San Mateo Daily Journal

The Department of Motor Vehicles is suffering a massive backlog in issuing driver’s licenses due to new security features that protect against fraud and counterfeiting.

“We are still looking at six weeks to renew,” DMV spokeswoman Jan Mendoza told the Daily Journal yesterday.

The manufacturer may be having some “growing pains” or “startup issues” related to the high-tech licenses, Mendoza said.

Those who have recently renewed their licenses and have yet to receive them do not have to worry about making alternative travel plans or getting in trouble with law enforcement, for instance.

The Transportation Security Administration will honor expired driver’s licenses at the airport but travelers may have to go through some extra screening, Mendoza said.

Staff in the office of state Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco/San Mateo, are helping residents in both San Francisco and San Mateo counties to secure a 120-day temporary license until the backlog is processed at DMV.

WA State: "No way" to compliance scope creep of Real ID

State officials "unclear" what being out of compliance on REAL ID means

c/o Seattle PI - Chris Grygiel

Come May of next year, Washington state will purposely be out of compliance with the federal government's "REAL ID" program for enhanced security driver's licenses which will be required by the Homeland Security Department for travel.

What that means is "anybody's guess," state lawmakers were told Wednesday.

In 2007 the state Legislature passed a law saying Washington wouldn't create a new driver's license unless Uncle Sam picked up the tab and privacy concerns were resolved.

BTC COMMENT:
I can see why Washington State is truly confused over terms of federal compliance. They adopted the Enhanced Drivers Licenses. [What more do ya want, Feds?]

REDUX: Wikileak's vs. EU Sexx Laws, more redacted record dumps

BTC --  Nothing has been as entertaining to watch for absurdity as charges were progressed to arrest Julian Assange, Wikileak's founder, for violating Swedish sex laws when "the condom broke".

Phil Mocek's trial in Bernalillo County Metro Court tomorrow might be the first of its kind in the country. He was arrested after refusing to present identification to the Transportation Security Administration. Mocek's case may be the first time someone has been arrested or charged with a crime after trying to travel by plane without showing ID.
He'll will be driving—not flying—from his hometown of Seattle to the Duke City for the trial.
